Fertiliser Sheds

Standwell designs and builds fertiliser sheds that keep product completely dry and free-flowing, so it spreads evenly when the weather window opens.

On-farm storage also lets you purchase fertiliser when pricing is favourable and have stock on hand ahead of key rain events, helping reduce waste and downtime during peak spreading.

Fertilisers you can store

Many operators mix products through the season. We regularly plan separate bunkers for superphosphates, DAP and starter blends alongside Urea or MAP so you can buy when pricing suits and keep each product in good condition until use.  Where products are incompatible, concrete bunker walls keep them segregated and protect cladding during loading.

Fully engineered for Australian conditions

Your Standwell structure is designed for Australian conditions and built to last. Frames are fully hot-dip galvanised for long service life, with Zincalume or COLORBOND roof and wall sheeting specified on projects. Weather-tight detailing and efficient roof geometry help move water away from stock and reduce the risk of moisture ingress, the enemy of flowability.

Custom designs for every fertiliser shed

Access is tailored to how you work. Clear spans make in-shed manoeuvring easy, while wide sliding doors shorten load and unload cycles. Where bulk is required, we set bunker wall height and bay count for your programme, and align door openings to loader work for faster cycles. Projects include large clear spans with two sliding doors, three metres wide by six metres high on a gable end, and other builds with three doors up to six metres wide by 5.5 metres high.

Why choose a shed over a silo

We have had customers move away from silos due to capacity and moisture issues. In one project, moisture entered a fertiliser silo and a first Urea/MAP blend hardened like concrete, making extraction difficult. An enclosed shed with ample sliding-door access avoids those headaches and provides flexible, multi-purpose space when fertiliser is not being stored.
